Holiday Workshop fun—cards & quilling

​ THE ART OF WRITING:  Italic Calligraphy Workshops
​A Base for All Lettering Arts

This class requires no previous artistic skills and is a wonderful way to learn about this amazing, fast-moving field of contemporary art. Students will be introduced several styles of calligraphy including Italic, Copperplate, Blackletter and exciting contemporary work. 

Fundamentals of beautiful Italic writing using a broad edge fountain pen allow student to gain confidence and work at their own pace. Lower and upper case letters, numbers and punctuation are studied and incorporated into finished, simple layouts. 

​Calligraphy is not only a beautiful and useful artistic technique, 
 fun and meditative and a wonderful way to enjoy the winter

As a fashion designer based in NYC Suzanne worked in the Orient for 25 years and was deeply influenced by Asian arts. She has taught calligraphy for many years and
​studied with many contemporary masters.
Five weekly two-hour classes will be offered beginning the week of January 12th. 
            Thursdays 1:30—3:30: January 15, 22, 29 and February 5 and 12.
           Saturdays 10:00—12:00: January 17, 24, 31 and February 7 and 14.
               $200. includes all supplies and materials
                     Supplies—fountain pen with three size nib points, 12 cartridges and calligraphy practice pad
